Who We Are
Techworm Vending LLC ("Techworm," "we," "us") operates AI-powered smart coolers in Pennsylvania. Our machines are refrigerated coolers with glass doors: you tap or insert a card, open the door, take what you want, and the machine's AI vision system charges you automatically for the items you removed. An optional QR code appears on the screen after each purchase so you can view a digital receipt.

Cameras & AI Vision
The interior vision system exists for one purpose: to detect which products were removed from the cooler so your card can be charged accurately. Image data is processed to identify products and resolve billing disputes, and is not used to identify individuals.
Our machines are operated in compliance with Pennsylvania law. No external cameras are installed on or around our machines unless specifically requested by the venue.
Payment Information
When you tap or insert your card at a machine, the transaction is processed by our third-party payment processor. Techworm does not see, store, or have access to your full card number. We receive only the transaction details needed to run the business: items purchased, amount charged, date, time, and machine location, along with a tokenized reference used for refunds and dispute resolution.
Payment processing is handled by PCI-compliant providers. Their handling of your card data is governed by their own privacy policies.
Pre-authorization holds
A temporary hold may appear on your card when you open the door. The hold is adjusted to the actual purchase amount after the door closes, or released if nothing is taken. Release timing depends on your bank, typically 1–5 business days.
Receipts
Scanning the QR code on the screen after a purchase is optional. If you scan it, your device opens a receipt page for that transaction. We do not collect your contact information through the receipt unless you choose to provide it.
Information We Collect
Types of data collected
- Contact information you provide: name, email address, phone number, company/organization name, and the contents of your message, when you submit our website contact form.
- SMS consent status: whether you checked the optional SMS consent box on our contact form.
- Transaction data at our machines: items purchased, amount charged, date, time, machine location, and a tokenized payment reference. We never receive or store your full card number.
- Machine interior imagery: product shelves and hands reaching for items, used solely to determine what was purchased. No faces or identifying imagery are captured.
How data is collected
- Web forms: Our contact form transmits your submission to us via Formspree, a third-party form service, and delivers it to our inbox.
- Cookies: Our website does not set tracking or advertising cookies. Third-party services we use (such as the form provider) may set functional cookies necessary to operate; we do not use cookies to profile or track visitors.
- At our machines: Payment and product-detection data is collected automatically when you make a purchase, through our payment processor and the machine's interior AI vision system.
Purpose: why we collect it
We collect contact information solely to respond to your inquiry and, where relevant, to follow up about placing a machine at your location. We collect transaction and inventory data to charge you correctly, process refunds, generate restocking schedules, and analyze sales trends so each machine stays stocked with what its customers want. We do not sell your information or add you to marketing lists without your consent.
How We Use Data
We use purchase and inventory data to:
- Charge you correctly for the items you take
- Process refunds and resolve billing disputes
- Track inventory and generate restocking schedules so machines stay full and food stays fresh
- Analyze sales trends to decide which products to stock at each location and anticipate what customers will want
- Maintain, monitor, and improve machine performance
All sales analysis is done at the product and machine level, not the individual level. We are interested in what sells, not who bought it.
Data Sharing
We share data only with service providers who help us operate: payment processors, machine telemetry and inventory platforms, and form/email services. We may share aggregate, non-identifying sales summaries (for example, total monthly sales) with the venue hosting a machine. We may disclose information if required by law. We never sell personal information.
Mobile opt-in, SMS consent, and phone numbers will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing purposes. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for assistance at any time.
SMS Terms & Conditions
Program description & message types
Techworm Vending uses SMS for one-on-one conversational messaging only. If you opt in, you can expect messages such as: replies to your inquiries, coordination of machine installation and service visits, restocking updates you've requested, and follow-ups regarding your location or account. We do not send bulk marketing texts.
How you opt in
You opt in by checking the optional SMS consent box on our website contact form at techwormvending.com, or by verbally requesting text communication. When you opt in, we will send you a message confirming your enrollment, which includes opt-out instructions. Consent to receive text messages is never required to contact us, purchase from our machines, or do business with us.
Message frequency
Message frequency varies depending on your inquiry and service activity.
Fees
Message and data rates may apply. If you have questions about your text or data plan, contact your wireless provider.
How you opt out
Reply STOP to any message to cancel at any time. After you send STOP, we will send you a message confirming that you have been unsubscribed, and you will receive no further messages from us. Reply START at any time to re-subscribe.

Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Privacy

Data Retention & Security
Transaction records are retained as required for accounting, tax, and dispute-resolution purposes. Interior camera data is retained only as long as needed for billing accuracy and dispute resolution, then deleted. We use reputable, secured third-party platforms and restrict access to business data to authorized personnel.
Your Rights
You have the right to access, update, or delete the personal information we hold about you. To exercise any of these rights, email support@techwormvending.com or call (412) 779-9809, and we will respond promptly.
- Access: Ask us what personal information we hold in connection with your inquiry or a transaction.
- Update: Request that we correct inaccurate contact information.
- Delete: Request deletion of your contact form submission or SMS opt-in record at any time.
- Refunds & disputes: Contact support@techwormvending.com with the machine location, approximate time, and last four digits of your card.
Terms of Use
Machines
By tapping or inserting a card and opening the door, you authorize Techworm Vending LLC to charge that card for the items removed from the cooler. Products are sold as marked on the machine's display screen. Please check product labels for ingredients and allergen information; perishable items are stamped with freshness dates and rotated regularly.
